Enjoyed meeting one of the owners Max. Loved listening and learning what this German coffee roastery Der Hoffskellar is all about. Coffee bold and smooth. Bought some beans. The old barn turned into small coffee cafe takes you back to yesteryear. They do area markets were you can buy their coffee beans in glass jars. Quart or pint. Whole bean or ground. On Thursday I went to explore a new coffee roaster I had hear about. Coffee roasting the old world way in cast iron, in a barn. Yes in a barn. I was treated by Jack one of the brothers who own the roastery. We talked for quite a while. Over coffee. Yum! I enjoyed learning about the How, Why, What, When, Where, of their adventures of roasting their coffee. Spontaneous stop on the way home from Mequon…It’s a fabulous new coffee shop on Sherman Rd in Cedarburg, located in a 100+ year old barn! German Norwegian style blend of coffee that’s roasted in a Dutch oven and sold in mason jars whole bean or ground. If you love European style coffee it’s a must stop! Brothers Jack & Max were great hosts, full of knowledge & amazing plans for the future of the business.
