Stopped in the shop in Cedarburg on a whim, & loved both the coffee and the conversation. Medium-Dark roast, smooth, low acidity. One of the best coffees I've ever tasted. Highly recommend stopping by. They also sell online & visit several farmers markets (in Lake Geneva on Friday's in July 2026!).

Warm weather got us out of Burlington for a little shopping and sightseeing after Valentine's Day. Stopped in the rustic barn at Der Hoffskeller to try some coffee. Bought some beans to take home.

I drink my coffee black. My personal favorite bean is Ethiopian for its almost sweet, smooth flavor. I like light roasts for their lack of bitterness compared to dark roasts. What did I think? First, it's a cute space here, and it will be exciting to visit here in the country as things develop. I enjoyed the coffee there. Ground some at home and ran it through my Coulee coffee maker. I prefer my coffee tasting bold, and this followed very well in my wheel house. It is not bitter. It has a really nice after taste that I enjoy, but it is a little different. It's not "smokey" or "woody" tasting, it's not chocolate like. Just good, hardy coffee flavor!

Love this place. Not sure where else you can get a free cup of coffee 7 days a week! The coffee is so smooth and delicious.

Free bottomless cups of self-serve, deliciously smooth coffee in a cozy converted barn. Linger to chat with friendly owners Jack and Max who will also leave you alone grab a free book & curl up on their comfortable sofas. Linger as long as you like, but don't forget to carry home ground or whole bean freshly roasted coffee & bring back your mason jar. Not even recyclables pollute this peaceful country refuge. What a find!

Smooth but robust great tasting coffee!

Shipped so fast to our FL vacation place, after we learned about der Hoffskeller! Enjoying it every morning, and afternoon coffee break! Smooth, mellow, non-acidic perfect medium roast! It was such a fresh flavor for us daily coffee drinkers of the standard brands. And what these folks did with their Sherman Road site transformation, you just gotta see it to add even another layer of delight to this perfectly roasted coffee!

Der Hoffskeller coffee is smooth and fresh. There is none of that acidic, bitter aftertaste. The coffee is packaged in canning jars, which I like.

Super tasty coffee that is made with a roaster based off a 17th century roasting style. I’ve lived in many coffee havens (Portugal, France, San Francisco, etc) and this is one of the most unique coffee rosters I have found. The coffee is a nice mix of smooth and bold. The guys who roast it are also really nice and which is always a bonus. I would highly recommend for anyone who enjoys a cup of quality coffee

Just brewed my first batch of Hoffskeller. Wow! Smooth, with a nice aroma, no acid Had to break out the coffee grinder for the first time in years. Can’t wait to try cold brewing some.
